Formerly Kalamazoo Postal Federal Credit Union, or KalPostal,
and now Access First Federal Credit Union.
Originally created for serving all the federal and U.S. postal
employees of Kalamazoo and surrounding counties, an anticipated
field of membership charter change to a community charter in
June 2004 as well as planning for future growth dictated a
name change in May 2004 to reinforce that the Credit Union
can serve other employer groups and individuals as well.
Eligibility: Access First Federal Credit Union serves persons
who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses
and other legal entities located in, Kalamazoo County or Van
Buren County, Michigan. To join the credit union, you must complete a membership application card and make a deposit of at least $20.00, which must remain in your account as long as you are a member. This deposit represents your “share” of ownership in the credit union and provides access to all of our products and services. Once you join Access First Federal Credit union, your membership is good for life, no matter where you live or work, as long as you maintain your accounts in good standing.
